The impact of crude choice on refinery GHG emissions has become of greater concern for refiners due to stricter legislation with regards to CO2 emissions. As illustrated in the following figure, crude quality can have a significant impact on the GHG emissions from a refinery. The crudes are listed in order of decreasing GHG emissions.
